Sugar And Crumbs - Review




As a huge cake lover, I was more then delighted to try Sugar and Crumbs flavoured icing sugar Coffee flavour and Salted Caramel, I was delighted to also try their Chocolate cherry cocoa powder...what is absolutely fantastic about this amazing range is there are so many amazing flavours to choose from.
Sugar and Crumbs produce 24 naturally flavoured icing sugars from Key lime to Velvet Vanilla amongst many more amazing flavours...Sugar and Crumbs also produce 5 naturally flavoured cocoa powders. which make cake baking a whole lots easier.

Each pack of icing comes in a resealable pack and priced at £1.99 for 125g taster pack to 250g at £2.99 and 500g pack at £4.99.
Cocoa powder costs only £2.99 for 125g, 250g £4.99 and 500g £8.99.

I couldn't wait to get started and test my baking skills along with these awesome icing sugars and cocoa powders.


I first made some yummy Chocolate Cherry Cakes as soon as I opened the packed I was greeted by this amazing cherry smell and as the cakes baked the Chocolate Cherry aroma filled the kitchen, the cakes tasted absolutely amazing and were delicious warm straight out of the oven and would have also been amazing with fresh cream.


Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes

Cupcake ingredients
4 0z Butter/Margarine
4 0z Caster sugar
2 eggs
3 0z self raising flour
1 0z cocoa powder
1/2 tbsp milk

Method
Preheat oven to gas mark 4/180c/350f
cream butter and sugar together
Beat in eggs
fold in flour and cocoa powder..adding milk...beat until light and fluffy
Spoon mixture into cases until they are half full
bake in the oven 15-20 minutes until inserted skewer come out clean
cool on wire rack

verdict - Rich and full of flavour..amazing 



Chocolate Cupcakes & Salted Caramel Butter Cream

Cupcake ingredients
4 0z Butter/Margarine
4 0z Caster sugar
2 eggs
4 0z self raising flour
1 tbsp Cocoa powder

Method as above

Butter Cream
250g butter
500g sugar and crumbs icing sugar incorporated
1/2 tablespoons of milk
add desired food colouring

Method 
soften butter then add in sifted icing sugar...add milk and slowly mix together until all icing sugar in Incorporated then blend using hand blender until soft and light consistency
This butter cream mixture should ice approx 12/15 cakes depending on quantity used per cake.

verdict - The salted caramel was an amazing flavour, I could never imagine to create such a flavour without Sugar and Crumbs...delicious


Chocolate Coffee Cupcakes

Cupcake ingredients
4 0z Butter/Margarine
4 0z Caster sugar
2 eggs
4 0z self raising flour
1 tablespoon cocoa powder

Method as above


Icing
75g icing sugar
3/5 tablespoons of water depending in Constancy desired
I made my icing to a running yet thickish consistency i spoon onto the cupcakes and ensure all was covered before adding glitter sugar then leave for icing to harden.

verdict - an amazing coffee flavour not overpowering just perfect....I loved this icing and will most defiantly use this when making a larger cake.


I was ever so delighted with the results and had very tasty cakes with icing flavours that I would have had difficulty creating myself...absolutely delicious.
