Home makeover ideas for 2016

There’s nothing better than giving our homes a spring clean, but sometimes we’ll want to go a step further and give our entire homes a proper makeover.

Whilst I certainly rarely have the time to tackle a mammoth project like this, I’ve found some handy hints online that can help all of us give our homes a sprucing up.

So from hyper-modern kitchen makeovers to space-saving trundle beds, here’s some hints for sprucing up your home in 2016!

In the kitchen
My number one tip to begin with is to rummage through all the cupboards and throw away all of the weird tins of food and spices that have outlived their sell-by date - there’s nothing worse than being a victim of having too much stuff!

Once you’ve cleared out the clutter, then I’d be tempted to invest in an ultra-modern kitchen makeover with tough and stylish materials such as stainless steel, treated stone and wonderful walnut. Maybe not the cheapest option, but definitely worth it in the long run!

Bedroom styles
There’s nothing like giving our bedrooms a lick of paint to make them feel brand new. I’ve been scouring the interiors blogs, and apparently if you want to be on-trend, then the calming colours of rose quartz andserenity will make your bedroom a place of peace and tranquility.

In order to maximise those relaxing feelings, making sure that your bed is shipshape for 2016 is a good idea. And if you want to entertain lots of guests in the new year, then you can get a special offer on a wooden trundle bed from the Bedstar site, so that you can accommodate more friends and family and get a good night’s sleep too!

Around the house
So often, it’s just the little touches around the house that can have a dramatic effect. Whether you want to indulge in the upcycling trend with a bohodriftwood wall sconce, or merely want to splash out on some particularly luxurious soft furnishings, we can all make big changes around the house without breaking the bank.

And seeing that spring is just around the corner, what better way to welcome the new season than by decorating the home with flowers? Not only is it an eco-friendly way to add a burst of colour, but it allows you to stay in touch with the changes of the seasons and get a little green-fingered too!

So whether you’re maximising space with a new trundle bed, or adding a fresh metallic sheen to your kitchen, there’s no shortage of great makeover ideas for your home in the new year!
