Paradise Wildlife Park

We were delighted to visit Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire over the weekend, we are fortunate to have previously visited when the boys were young so had very fond memories that we wanted to re-live.

Paradise Wildlife Park is home to an array of  animals, it also has a cool World Of Dinosaurs exhibit along with a cool children's play area for the younger children, On arrival we were given a map which gave al the details and animal inclosures along with the talks and feed time, it also has a list and location of all the amenities in the park.

We were really excited to visit the World Of Dinosaurs which homes some really cool life-size, animatronic roaring Dinosaurs they were really cool to watch we even took a few selfies on our way around, perfect for any Dinosaur fan young or old.

We then headed into the Animal Park we had the most amazing afternoon exploring all of the animal inclosure from Lemurs, Penguins, gibbons and Tigers, my son really liked the small farm inclosure. We absolutely loved watching the Lions and got a marvellous view of them from the high walkway platform.

Paradise Wildlife Park is the perfect family day out, we had the most amazing day, I quite liked that we didn't have a huge trek to each enclosure, Paradise Park is the perfect size with plenty of picnic space, its also great if you have very young children as it has some amazing play areas. There is also a mini train ride around some of the park. It was great to re-visit Paradise Wildlife Park, I certainly wasn't disappointed and loved every minute of our day out, it brought back some great memories and gave us new ones, I would defiantly return again.

Zippos Circus

We had the most amazing afternoon celebrating the UK return of Zippo's Circus 2019 in Blackheath London. We were super excited as we headed to the big top and watch Norman Barrett the worlds greatest ringmaster introduce the magnificent production.

The show lasts for approx two hours with an interval break.   We were astounded by the stunning performances from thrilling Brazilian Lucius Team who thrilled us with The Globe of Terror, The Timbuktu Tumblers and Revolution Troupes just to name a few, kept us on the edge of our seats with their acrobatic skills, with a stunning array of performances Zippos Circus was filled with stunning daring acts which left us in awe and wanting more, each performance was presented and executed with grace from start to finish.

The show was absolutely breathtaking and of course, Zippos circus wouldn't be complete without a hint of comedy, so we were in for a real treat with the stunning presence of Paulo Dos Santos a brilliant 3 foot 6 inches tall showman who certainly made us laugh and entertained us throughout the show.

We had the most fantastic afternoon exploring the Beasts Of London. Beasts Of London is an immersive digital exhibition at the Museum of London. We had the opportunity to explore the city past and present and the fascinating role of animals and how they have helped shape the capital.

We were guided nine different theatrical rooms from the Roman era through Medieval London and right up to the present day, each story was narrated by the beasts themselves, with some very familiar voices from Kate Moss, Brian Blessed, Pam Ferris, Angellica Bell and Joe Pasquale who were voicing some of the animals featured in the show.

We were fascinated by the unique experience which was highly entertaining and educational the stories were told through stunning audio-visual presentations.

Cones up and dive mouth first into this year's biggest ice cream extravaganza! Thousands of scoops of Ben & Jerry’s chunky, swirly, Fairtrade ice cream will be given away at cinemas and Scoop Shops across the UK on Tuesday 9th April during the company’s annual Free Cone Day celebrations.

Ben & Jerry’s yearly thank you to their fans is back! Selected Scoop Shops will be offering the chance to enjoy a scoop of any flavour on the menu, including their latest and lightest creation Moo-phoria Chocolate Cookie Dough, and Scoop Shop exclusives like Cherry Garcia. Ice cream lovers who find themselves in a cone-undrum over which flavour to choose can simply get back in line a second (or third, or fourth!) time.

Co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield first dreamed up Free Cone Day way back in 1979, as a way to say a big thank you to the community surrounding their very first Scoop Shop in Burlington, Vermont. The idea turned into an annual – and now global – event with over a million scoops handed out worldwide each April.

“We’re nothing without our fans,” said Ben & Jerry’s CEO Matthew McCarthy. “This is one of our favourite days of the year. It’s a special tradition that’s all about showing the love for our flavour fans the best way that we know how,” he said.

What’s more, this year, for the first time ever you can even get some Free Cone Day spirit delivered straight to your door – with a free ‘Wich (chunky and swirly ice cream, top and bottomed with cookies), with all Ben & Jerry’s delivery orders from their nationwide ice cream stores through selected delivery partners. To find your nearest participating Scoop Shop, visit the Ben & Jerry’s website, and while you’re waiting for the big day why not try Ben & Jerry’s quiz to find out which flavour you should try scooping up this Free Cone Day.

Amazon Adventure brings an epic and inspirational true story of an unknown British explorer, set in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, In the BFI IMAX Odeon Theatre in London. Open to the public from 1st April, with special cast screening on 7th April, at London’s BFI IMAX attended by lead actor Calum Finlay, director Mike Slee and writer Wendy MacKeigan

The film follows the extraordinary journey of naturalist and explorer Henry Walter Bates - the most influential British scientist you’ve probably never heard of – who provided “the beautiful proof” to Charles Darwin for his then-controversial theory of natural selection, the greatest scientific explanation for the development of life on Earth. As a young man, Bates risked his life for science during his 11-year expedition into the Amazon rainforest, accompanied for the first few years by his friend Alfred Wallace. AMAZON ADVENTURE is a compelling detective story of peril, perseverance and, ultimately, success, drawing audiences into the fascinating world of animal mimicry, the astonishing phenomenon where one animal adopts the look of another, gaining an advantage to survive.

Filmed on location in London, Manchester, Charles Darwin’s Down House and the remote Brazilian rainforest, AMAZON ADVENTURE uses the IMAX format to immerse viewers into a wild world of breath-taking beauty and captivating animal behaviour. But things are not always as they seem in the jungle and audiences will be mesmerized by an array of nature’s masters of mimicry.

From the makers of the immensely popular and multiple award-winning film Flight of the Butterflies 3D, the film is directed by Britain’s own Mike Slee and executive produced by Jonathan Barker and Sean B. Carroll, starring Calum Finlay as Henry Bates, written by Wendy MacKeigan and Carl Knutson and shot by UK cinematographers Gerry Vasbenter and Richard Kirby, with an original score by Brazilian composer Antonio Pinto. Although filming in the Amazon was very challenging, the team constantly reminded themselves of what it must have been like for Bates, without any of the transportation and communication technologies available today.

AMAZON ADVENTURE, a spectacular IMAX/Giant Screen film from award-winning SK Films brings audiences on a visually stunning odyssey through the wilds of the Amazon rainforest in an incredible story of scientific discovery.
