Sweet and Sour Salmon with Bertolli with Butter & Olive Oil

When it comes cooking I generally cook with olive oil, so I was really delighted to hear that Bertolli has added to its versatile range with Bertolli with Butter & Olive Oil. Bertolli with Butter & Olive Oil is produced with the finest ingredients and blended with premium quality butter and specially selected olive oil. You can still have the goodness of olive oil but with the delicious taste of butter without the risk of burning even when cooking with really high temperatures. This is really exciting for me, so I couldn't wait to put this so I decided to cook my Sweet and Sour Salmon.

The LEGO Batman Movie - Digital Download

We were lucky enough to see The Batman Movie in the cinema, so we were delighted to finally get the chance to watch the movie in our own home as The Batman Movie is now available to download digitally ahead of its release of DVD.

The Batman movie can be download via iTunes or Amazon and Sky, the download was really quick and before we knew it we were ready to settle down and watch one of our most favorite movies this year. To get us in the spirit Warner Bros sent is a cool box of Lego Batman Goodies.

The LEGO Batman Movie: Batman is a serious superhero who has no time for family life, although secretly he longs to be part of a family again, but tough talking Batman firmly hides his feelings and desires and spends much of his time working on his 9 pack abs, but that's about to change when he unwittingly takes orphan Dick (Robin) under his wing and soon realises the importance of family and friends when he teams up with his own family and Barbara Gorden (police commissioner) to stop the Joker taking over the city.

We totally loved watching the movie and loved it's hilariously funny with laugh out loud moments throughout.

The LEGO Batman Movie is available on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes from 19th May, available on DVD and Blu-ray on the 13th June.

Staying Refreshed with Fruit Shoot Hydro

Last week we headed to The Castle Climbing Centre in East London, where the kids had a 90-minute rock climbing experience which tested their physical and mental agility, whilst the kids sweated it out testing their climbing skills, we had the chance to meet with expert dietician Jo Travers who shared top tips on how to keep kids refreshed this summer with Fruit Shoot Hydro.

Fruit Shoot Hydro introduces a new way to drink water, the naturally flavoured spring water drinks come in a burst of fruity flavours: Apple and Raspberry, Blackcurrant, Orange and Pineapple, the great thing about Fruit Shoot Hydro is that they contain no added sugar, artificial colours or flavouring.

As a mum of two boys I know just how difficult it can be when it comes to encouraging my kids to stay refreshed and these tasty Fruit Shoot Hydro drinks will certainly help, not only do they taste deliciously refreshing, but the resealable cap makes them the perfect choice when on the go. Dietician Jo Travers gave us some amazing advice when it comes to encouraging the kids to drink more.

Jo Travers Top Tips On How To Get Your Child To Drink Enough:

1 - Be persistent! It’s an obvious one but get into the habit of offering your child a drink regularly throughout the day and eventually they will get into the habit of remembering for themselves

2- All drinks count! Anything with water in it will help keep kids refreshed. Get creative by making fruit milkshakes and slushies, or give active kids no-added sugar, naturally flavoured spring water drinks such as Fruit Shoot Hydro to keep them refreshed on the go

3 - Eat more water! Lots of foods have water in them. Fruits, vegetables, soups, yoghurts, breakfast cereals with milk, and even pasta and rice absorb water when they cook. Home-made ice lollies with juice and water are also a great way to get fluids in kids

4 - Get creative! Make drinks more fun with colourful cups and straws or by adding fresh fruit. You can also create colourful ice cubes by freezing fresh fruit and water to make any drink look and taste delicious

5 - Reward them! Get them to tick a box every time they have a drink during the day and when they reach their goal, give them a reward

Jo Travers - Staying hydrated is important for everyone but crucial for children, as they have a larger percentage of body water than adults. The most obvious symptom of mild dehydration is feeling thirsty but it’s not the only sign or even necessarily the first one. Headaches, constipation, a lack of concentration, and low energy or mood swings are all signs that a child may be mildly dehydrated.

I was in awe of the boys as they challenged themselves to reach the highest points on the climbing wall, it was hard work just watching them, they certainly worked up a sweat and couldn't wait to cool down and have a drink.

The boys had the most wonderful day expressing themselves and testing their climbing abilities. Fruit Shoot Hydro comes in 200ml and 350ml bottles and are available from all major supermarkets.

Thank You to The Castle Climbing and the Fruit Shoot team for an amazing day.

Terry’s Chocolate Orange Millionaires Shortbread

Terry’s Chocolate Orange Millionaires Shortbread

There are only couple of weeks to go and it'll be Father Day, and what better gift is there to give than the gift of Chocolate, more specifically A Cadbury Chocolate Orange, so why not make Father’s Day a little more special with this delicious Terry’s Chocolate Orange recipe: Millionaire shortbread, the perfect treat for the whole family, especially for dads, this  Terry’s Chocolate Orange Millionaires Shortbread is an exciting twist on the traditional recipe with a crumbling shortbread base and indulgent caramel along with the signature chocolate orange flavour for its top layer.

Terry’s Chocolate Orange
Prep time 45 minutes
Cook time 50 minutes
Makes 25 squares

135g Butter
175g Plain Flour
55g Sugar
1 Orange, zested
379g can Condensed Milk
75ml Golden Syrup
150g Butter
100g Sugar
3 Terry’s Chocolate Oranges

Terry’s Chocolate Orange

Preheat the oven to 180c/160fan and line a 20x20 brownie tin. In the bowl of a food processor, add the butter and plain flour. Blitz until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs and then add in the sugar and orange zest and blitz again to combine. Take the mixture out and work with your hands to form a ball of dough. Push the dough into the base of the lined tin until it is flat and even and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Meanwhile, prepare the caramel. In a large non-stick frying pan, heat the condensed milk, golden syrup, butter, and sugar until the butter has melted and the mixture begins to boil. Stir constantly to keep it from burning. Turn the mixture down to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes or until the colour starts to become golden brown. Remove from the heat and transfer to a heatproof bowl to cool and thicken slightly.

Once the shortbread is cooked, allow to cool for 10 minutes and then pour the cooled caramel over the top. Allow to cool and then chill for 10 minutes while you melt the chocolate. Bring a small pan of water to the boil and place a heatproof bowl over the top making sure that the water does not touch the bowl directly. Break up the chocolate oranges into segments, reserving half of one for decoration and tip the rest into the bowl. Turn the heat down immediately to a gentle simmer and allow the chocolate to gradually melt, stirring occasionally.

Once the chocolate has melted, remove the shortbread from the fridge and pour over the chocolate, making sure to spread it into the corners. Use the remaining chocolate segments to decorate the top and then chill until firm.

Once the chocolate is set and you are ready to serve, slice into 25 squares.
