We were super excited to head into Central London to Vue Cinema to watch the screening of Teen Titans Go To The Movies, both of my boys are huge Teen Titans fans and watch the series on Cartoon Network almost every day. Teen Titans GO to the Movies sees the egocentric Super Heroes in their first feature film, Robin notices that of the major superheroes are starring in their own movies, so a determined Robin decided its about time him and his team also have the same opportunity, so the Teen Titan decides to head to Hollywood in search of fame, but they come across a Super-Villain who uses his power of persuasion in an attempt to take over the Earth, but things dont go to plan and the team eand up fighting for their friendship.

Teen Titans Go Movie is a fun and entertaining animated family movie, filled with comical elements a must-see movie for Teen Titans and DC Comic fans, the cool storyline and catchy tunes will leave you wanting to rewatch again.

Will Arnett (“The LEGO® Batman Movie”) and Kristen Bell (“Frozen”) lend their voices to the first-ever big-screen version of DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network’s animated TV show, which also stars Greg Cipes (TV’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) as Beast Boy, Scott Menville (TV’s “Spider-Man”) as Robin, Khary Payton (“The Walking Dead”) as Cyborg, Tara Strong (the “My Little Pony” franchise) as Raven, and Hynden Walch (TV’s “Adventure Time with Finn & Jake”) as Starfire, reprising their roles from the series. The film is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, from a screenplay by Michael Jelenic and Horvath, based on characters from DC.  Michail, Will Arnett and Peggy Regan are producing, with Sam Register, Jelenic, and Horvath serving as executive producers.  Apart from Arnett, all are “Teen Titans GO!” series contributors.

From the creators of the Academy Award nominated ERNEST AND CELESTINE, comes The Big Bad Fox and Other Takes, this hilarious adventure about a gang of animal misfits the story is told through beautifully hand-drawn animations, the story unfolds around lovable countryside creatures as they try (and fail), to fulfil their traditional roles in the farm and the forest.

A lazy stork leaves the delivery of a baby in the care of a rabbit, a pig and a duck. A big, bad fox tries to live up to his reputation whilst he unwittingly adopts three confused baby chicks and in the film's final tale, the animals embark on a hair brained scheme to replace Father Christmas.

Featuring a host of voices from the world of British comedy, including Bill Bailey, Adrian Edmondson, Justin Edwards, Matthew Goode, Celia Imrie, Phill Jupitus and Giles New, THE BIG BAD FOX AND OTHER TALES is a heart-warming portrayal of the pitfalls of family life. In cinemas August 3rd.

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

One of our family traditions each year is to head to one of the ZSL Zoo's, last year we visited ZSL London, so we were really looking forward to visiting Whipsnade Zoo, ZSL Whipsnade which is an hour and a half drive from London.

Whipsnade Zoo is a zoo and safari park located near Dunstable in Bedfordshire, we have been fortunate to have visited a few times before, and absolutely loved the large open spaces of the Zoo and its stunning surroundings in the countryside.

The Zoo covers around 600 acres and is one of the largest Zoos in the UK, and as its so big visitors have the opportunity to walk and explore or use the Zoo's bus service, or if you prefer you can drive between the enclosures. We tend to enjoy strolling around visiting the various animal enclosures stopping for short breaks along the way which often means breathtaking views in every direction.

With so much to see and do at Whipsnade Zoo, you really do end up spending an entire day visiting the designated areas of Europe, Asia and Africa , we alsoways start out at base camp and enjoy a bite to eat and a cool drink, if your children are younger there's also an outside play area , there really is something for the whole family will enjoy, this summer from 21 Jul - 2 Sep 2018, ZSL is celebrating all things SUPER and are giving kids the chance to put their animal skills to the test in their Superhero Training Academy, where they can learn all about the amazing powers of the animals.

Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is a charity devoted to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. Check online for up to date events and whats on at your local ZSL ZOO, for more information check out www.zsl.org

Sounds and Sorcery

We were really excited and intrigued to attend the Sounds and Sorcery press night at The Vaults in Waterloo London.

Sounds and Sorcery is an immersive walk-through theatre experience inspired by Disney Fantasia, on arrival each guest is given a set of headphones and that's when the magic begins, we had the chance to explore, each room transported you into a unique and wonderful fantasy-themed world.

As we wondered through each of the rooms the music changed, it was amazing to experience the life-sized light installation and stunning visual effects, we were in awe of our surroundings, it was great that we could stop and take pictures along the way and really take our time absorbing each atmospheric room. Our favourite rooms had to The Sorcerer's Apprentice where we were treated to a spectacular live performance.

From bubbles in The Nutcracker Suite to burning volcanoes in The Rite Of Springs, Sounds and Sorcery will soothe, inspire and entertain all ages.

After a leisurely exploration of each room, there was time to grab a drink from the bar and watch the live performance of The Dance Of Hours Ballet.

We absolutely loved every minute of our visit to Sounds and Sorcery, its different from any other theatrical musical experience, defiantly something that needs to be seen and experienced.

Sounds and Sorcery will run from the 3rd of July to the 30th September with tickets starting from £30, to book tickets and for more information check out www.soundsandsorcery.com

Watermelon and Feta Salad Recipe

We have had so much amazing hot weather and here's looking forward to it lasting for the rest of summer, so why not cool off with this delicious watermelon and Feta Salad.

Serves 4

¼ Watermelon – Skin removed and diced 1 inch thick
Feta – 200g diced or crumbled
Kalamata olives – 50g pitted
Red chilli – 1 finely chopped
Olive oil – 10ml
Garlic clove – 1 clove
A sprig of thyme and rosemary
½ large lemon, remove rind and julienne (slice rind into thin strips). Juice the flesh
Basil leaves – 10g
Mint leaves – 10g

To make the dressing, slowly and carefully heat olive oil, adding the garlic, chilli, thyme and rosemary, lemon rind.
Gently heat for 3 minutes, add lemon juice, salt and pepper. It’s important to do this slowly to avoid burning any of the added elements.
Set aside to cool
To serve, spread the diced watermelon in the desired dish, sprinkle the feta on top, spoon over olives and distribute the dressing evenly.
Finish with a fine chiffonade of basil and mint – this will bring out all the flavour.

My Personality in Colours

The colours that we choose make us feel good, whether that be the clothes that we were or the decor of our homes, colours defiantly do influence the way we feel. Most experts in home decor would always recommend that you look at the available space textures, furniture that you have before deciding on a colour, as there is no point in choosing a colour that can overwhelm a small space or clash with your current furniture.

I do tend to opt for very natural to pastel colours, I like the light and airy feel, also my furniture is dark especially my large leather recliner which takes up a huge space in my living room, so its important that the walls are light, I do like accents of metallics and colour but tend to use accessories to add the clours that I like. My bedroom is in need of a new makeover and for this, I'm defiantly looking at white, greys and silver. Julain Charles has a cool downloadable pdf book (see the link to below)  which shares some really useful information on a range of colours and why we are attracted to them. Here is what Julian Charles advises on my colour palate

Grey - Grey is a reliable colour and is very versatile,  You’re reliable, but sometimes a bit scared of being the centre of attention. You’d much rather fade into the background. Grey is also the colour of compromise. It shows that you can be indecisive, and would rather sit on the fence than make any big decisions. You’re mostly a calm person who likes to be in control of a situation. Sometimes you can be a little bit too serious, but your fun side comes out when you’re with your best friends. How to style grey Don’t just stick to one grey. You should use lots of light and darks to help layer the room. Grey comes in all sorts of tones. You can have warm ones, or blue-toned ones, or even grey with a green tinge.  so play around with it. For a glamorous feel, add lots of silver accessories and crushed velvet.

Black & White - Using black and white suggests that you like the simple things in life. You enjoy sitting down with a good book, or just having dinner with loved ones. It doesn’t take much to please you. You might be a bit more cautious with your interiors too. Perhaps you’re scared of colour, but regardless, your home is still beautiful and stylish with simple monochrome colours.

The colours we're attracted to or the ones we do tend to choose repeatedly and defiantly tell something about our personality and Julian Charles really summed up my personality with the clours that I have chosen for my home, check out Colour Your Personality

15yr old Tim Edge (HARRY JARVIS) is a budding graffiti artist and an expert in selfishness. When Tim and his two best friends, Vic & Alf, bunk off from a school trip at the Natural History Museum, they stumble into a Press Conference being held by Lena Eidelhorn (SIOBHAN REDMOND), a mad scientist who is unveiling her latest invention, The Vitalitron.

The Vitalitron is capable of predicting the time of death of any living creature, and when Tim sneaks inside, he discovers he only has 2:Hrs left to live. Chased across London by tabloid journalists Tooley and Graves (SEANN WALSH and MAREK LARWOOD), Tim and his mates agree on a bucket list that will cram a lifetime into the next two hours. Meanwhile, Lena makes plans to ensure that the Vitalitron’s prophecy becomes true no matter what.

2:HRS will be available on demand from the 30th July, for more information check out www.2hrsfilm.com

Drayton Manor to bring smiles this summer

Drayton Manor Park plans its six weeks of Summer Sensation campaign from Wednesday 25th July to Monday 3rd September at the Staffordshire-based attraction. In addition to the adrenaline-pumping thrill rides, family-friendly rides and the 15-acre zoo, the attraction is organising extra events for visitors to enjoy. Make sure that your little ones don’t miss out on a special meet and greet with CatBoy and Owlette, characters from popular children’s TV show, PJ Masks. These fan favourites, guaranteed to bring a smile to your child’s face, will be having fun at the park on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th August in the heart of the park near the Carousel.

For the grown-ups, there will be a scrumptious Food & Craft Festival on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August, consisting of over 30 stands to tantalise the taste buds with locally made treats and delights, including stands run by The Crab Shack, Patty Freaks and Gyro Guys to name a few plus some amazing craft stalls as well. But don’t worry if you don’t manage to make it to these events as throughout the summer there’s plenty at Drayton Manor Park to keep everyone happy. Both the young and young at heart will be entertained in Europe’s only Thomas Land™, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and is home to more than 25 rides and attractions, such as the Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, Jeremy Jets’ Flying Academy, and brand new in 2017, James and The Red Balloon.

Thrill seekers can scream to their hearts’ content as they experience a host of adrenaline-pumping rides such as the head-turning gyro swing Maelstrom, the 54-metre drop tower Apocalypse and Shockwave, one of only two stand-up coasters in Europe. Visitors looking for a quick refresh from the occasional ‘heat wave’ we have been experiencing to date can enjoy the white-knuckle Stormforce 10 water ride! If you’re planning to extend your visit into a staycation at the onsite, four-star Drayton Manor Hotel, secure your evening’s stay in a standard family room with a deposit of just £1 and help spread the cost this summer with the park’s exclusive Stay & Play offer. Be quick though, as terms and conditions apply and these rooms sell out fast!

For families with younger children, the magical experience of Thomas Land doesn’t have to end in the park as Drayton Manor Hotel has 15 incredible Thomas & Friends themed rooms. Each child staying in a themed room also receives a complimentary Thomas & Friends goodie bag during their stay. For those without little ones, the hotel offers a well-deserved break in relaxing rooms with free Wi-Fi and an optional full English breakfast too.
William Bryan, Managing Director at Drayton Manor Park comments: “As a third-generation family run independent attraction, we understand how long the summer holidays can feel when you have nothing planned, which is why we want to shout about our Summer Sensation campaign

“With so many events and experiences planned, you may wish to visit us on more than one occasion this summer. So why not avoid additional screen time for children and being stuck indoors this summer and plan a trip to Drayton Manor to create fun family memories that will last a lifetime!”

When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big!  “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” finds our egocentric, wildly satirical Super Heroes in their first feature film extravaganza a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers.

It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies—everyone but the Teen Titans, that is!  But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick.  If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them.  With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream.  But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously Super-Villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry.  The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!

The film was directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, from a screenplay by Michael Jelenic and Horvath, based on characters from DC.  Michail, Will Arnett and Peggy Regan are producing, with Sam Register, Jelenic, and Horvath serving as executive producers.  Apart from Arnett, all are “Teen Titans GO!” series contributors.

TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES hits UK cinemas nationwide on August 3rd.

His heroic quest takes Thomas across deserts, through jungles and over dangerous mountains as he travels across five continents seeing sights he has never seen before. On his journey to discover new places and cultures, Thomas makes friends with an adventurous, inspiring and fun tank engine from Kenya called Nia. But with so much for Thomas to learn about the world, will Nia be successful in teaching him a lesson about the true meaning of friendship?

New friend Nia is the first African tank engine to join Thomas & Friends and comes with her own sense of adventure. To ensure that she comes with a rich and accurate background for children to appreciate, her character was specially developed with the help of the UN and experts from the Royal African Society. The Movie features a fun-packed plot full of wonder and curiosity, plus tons of animals and several musical songs that will captivate the imagination of young Thomas fans and parents alike. This is the biggest Thomas movie to date and one not to be missed!
