Forbidden Forest Cinema – Halloween Horror Screenings


The Forbidden Forest Cinema are hosting a collection of immersive fright night Halloween screenings.  ( from 23 Oct to 15 Nov) Visitors must brave their way through a forbidden forest before discovering an eerie woodland cinema, the perfect setting for their favourite film. 

 


Films include Halloween horror favourites such as: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Hereditary, It, Beetlejuice, Scream, The Shining and The Blair Witch Project as well as cult classics like Donnie Darko, Rocky Horror Picture Show, From Dusk Till Dawn, Labyrinth and The Craft (see full schedule below).

Half term screenings of Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Onward, Moana, Minions and Toy Story 4 will also be part of the schedule, coupled with a family-friendly magical adventure through the mysterious forest.

 

Adult tickets will be priced from £22 (incl. all fees), with concessions for family tickets and half-term screenings. A limited amount of VIP tickets will also be made available at £27.50 (incl. all fees, premium seats, and a drink).

The Climbing Hangar


The Climbing Hangar has a new indoor climbing centre which is located on the Matchworks estate in Speke, Liverpool. The Climbing Hangar is a centre for climbers of all levels to practice their rock climbing skills they also offer courses and practice sessions, there is coffee when you need a break.


As part of a phased approach with strict social distancing and safety measures in place The Climbing Hangar, re-opened the doors of its facilities on 25th July including Matchworks a 11,200 sq foot brand new facility which is an upgrade on the existing Birchall Street venue and follows the success of its flagship climbing wall.

TANDOORI MARINADE RECIPE


Tandoori cooking is great for meat products but It's also a great way to make vegetables and vegan burgers even tastier. It's easy to make some spicy tandoori style marinades that are going to bring everything to life. This delicious recipe is gluten and dairy-free so will cover a lot of allergies and special diets in one go.

Tandoori Paste for Marinade:
1/2 tsp black peppercorns
1 cm cinnamon stick
12 cloves buds 
1 onion peeled and roughly chopped
3 cloves garlic peeled and roughly chopped
3cm ginger root peeled and roughly chopped 
2 tbsp coconut oil 
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp chilli
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp curry powder
1 teaspoon salt 
1 lemon (juiced)
400ml coconut or other vegan ​yogurt
1 tbsp tomato puree
A handful of fresh coriander (chopped)

Method:
Grind the cloves, peppercorns and cinnamon in a grinder or pestle and mortar. Put the ginger, garlic and onion in a food processor and blend until it is a smooth paste. 
Heat the coconut oil in the pan and add the pureed onion mixture cook for 2-3 minutes. Add freshly ground and powdered spices and cook for another 2 minutes.
If the mixture gets too dry, add 1-2 tbsp water. 
Remove from the heat and add the lemon juice, yogurt, salt and tomato paste. Mix well and reheat then add the fresh coriander.
