This is a very simple recipe (check out my Caramel Tart - Improved Recipe here ) which is super fast recipe!! as you can now purchase Carnation Caramel and will save you tons of time. You can make your own shortcrust pastry and boil a can of condensed milk for the caramel (which ca take over an hour and a half) so the choice if quickness is yours, I opted for the quick and simple option.
Ingredients
Ready roll shortcrust pastry
I can of Carnation Condensed Milk
Chocolate sprinkles
Method
Place pastry on a lined baking tray ensuring you pinch the edges, prick with a fork and bake
(as pack instructions). Once your pastry it's cooked and cooled spoon on all of the caramel, add chocolate sprinkles for the finishing touch!! and there you have it. A quick and simple caramel tart. This tart tastes amazing with custard...yummy.

ReplyDeleteI am making this right now at 2.30 am lol.. so far I have simmered three cans of condensed milk.. I did not need to add extra water as my water did not evaporate, maybe just slightly.. I kept on checking but it was fine, now I have drained the water out of pan and replaced it with cold water and put it next to an open window, I bought pre rolled pastry, which comes rolled in a baking sheet.. unrolled it, used a rolling pin over it a little bit to thin it out, put it in a baking tray, pushed my fingers in to get it to mild the shape of the tray, turned the outer layers into themself to make a thicker crust, added light amount of salted lurpak margarine.. put oven on to 200 and now it's in the oven getting baked, will bake for 15 mins, keep checking.. Once it is done, I will take it out and leave it to cool, the water which the condensed milk is in, I will take them out and leave them directly next to window to cool, then open and put on the shortcrust pastry and add chocolate sprinkles.. I will let you know how it tastes in a seperate message x
ReplyDeleteHi, my friend and I had the tart at school and we were always mad about this pudding. It occasionally came out and we loved it. We have been searching the recipe for ages under the name of toffee fudge tart, as they called it that I also tried caramel tart and nothing looked the same. I then had a brainwave to look on google images and see if i found a picture of the tart I had at school (5 years ago!!). I found a picture that looked EXACTLY like it and it led me to this wonderful site. I phoned up my friend and sent her a link of this page and I am so glad that it is really easy to make. Thank you so so so so so so so so much. It brings back good memories and is DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
