Foraging For Summer Fruits with Robinsons Fruit Shoot

Fruit Shoot has partnered with foraging expert, Fergus Drennan, to create a range of hints and tips about foraging for fruit in your local area. We were given a really cool foraging kit to help us prepare for our adventure.

We were really excited to explore our local area and forage for fruit, the countryside defiantly offers more of a variety, but it's good to know that the inner-city also has a range of parks and public spaces where you can forage. We like foraging in an East Londons Cemetery Park which allows you to forage and explore responsibly.

During this hot summer days, what better way to stay refreshed than with the taste of delicious summer fruits, inspired by the real fruit taste of Fruit Shoot which contains real fruit foraging expert Fergus Drennan has some top tips on foraging safely to discover the taste of summer.

We had an amazing afternoon exploring and came across some familiar as well as unfamiliar berries, so we ensured we followed Fergus Drennan top tips and safety advice to guide us!

Fergus Forging Tips

1. Safety First - Before setting out on a foraging expedition remember to make sure you know the fruits that you will be looking for! NEVER pick and eat anything if you're not sure what it is as some plants are poisonous and can make you ill.

2. What To Wear - There is no dress code for foraging, if its cold wrap up in thermals or wear practical clothes like waterproofs or wellies. Don't let the rain and wind put you off, it's all part of the elemental experience. Forging can get messy, so don't wear your best shoes.

3. Don't Be Greedy -  Avoid collecting all the fruit that you can see as other creatures rely on them for food, blackbirds and pigeons love ripe berries, and young foxes will eat fruits like cherries and plums.

4.  Grow Your Own - Collect seeds and plant them, you could even create a dedicated wild food plant area in your garden, or pots indoors if you don't have any outside space.

5. Brush Up On Your Knowledge - It's also worth on checking which plants are rare, threatened or protected by the law (even if edible) in the wildlife countryside act. The woodland trust also has great tips for foraging.

Inspired by our afternoon foraging and looking for summer fruits, the boys thought of a cool new Fruit Shoot flavour called Bannaberry, a concoction of their favourite summer fruits with a banana flavour twist.

With the few Blackberries we did manage to collect, we decided to make some Fruit Shoot Ice pops, we thoroughly washed a sliced the Blackberries and added some Strawberries and Raspberry, we then filled up our ice pops with a favourite Fruit Shoot soft drink Summer Fruits and waited for the ice pops to set! They tasted absolutely delicious!

Robinsons Fruit Shoot Summer Fruits soft drinks contain only real juice, no added sugar only naturally occurring sugars and no artificial colours or flavourings. Check out

I Want To Be More Berocca

I tend to suffer from tiredness and fatigue due to working two part time jobs, running a home and a family, I normally left feeling pretty exhausted, but I know I'm not alone.

Berocca recently carried out new research that reveals the UK is increasingly becoming a nation of recluses with low energy levels causing nearly half of people to miss out on new experiences, of the 2,000 people surveyed, 1 in 4 feel too tired to spend time with family and friends. Most of us view tiredness as their number one health concern, so  The Berocca Energy Report was launched to encourage Brits to look after their own energy and fatigue levels, so they can be ready to embrace life’s opportunities.

Energy crashes are disrupting daily lives with top activities being missed out on including:

1.       Trying new experiences (42%)
2.       Meeting new people (35%)
3.       Spending time with friends and family (28%)
4.       Reading books (28%)
5.       Going for dinner (27%)

Brits report having energy spikes and crashes an average of 3-4 times each week, with energy levels lowest at 3pm on Mondays.  Additionally, two-thirds of us want an energy solution that is not dependent on caffeine or sugar. The Berocca Energy Report aims to inspire Brits to seek natural energy alternatives and embrace the activities they were once too tired to commit to

Expert Dietitian and Nutritionist, Dr Sarah Schenker says: “Very often low motivation and energy is caused by poor diet and sleep. The lack of key nutrients can also leave the body feeling drained. B vitamins are important for the release of energy from food and drinks, a poor intake could cause tiredness and lethargy throughout the day and impact on being able to enjoy life.”

I have used Berocca before as it was recommended by a friend, the great thing is that I actually felt that Berocca did make a difference in the way I felt, but after a while I stopped taking it as I felt good, but of course I just fell back into the same routine as I was prior. So I'm now pleased to back to starting each day again with a Berocca.

Berocca is packed full of 8 energy releasing B vitamins and other essential nutrients which are scientifically proven to help support energy release and help with mental performance, and you can take it every day simply by dissolving one of the four delicious effervescent Berocca tablets in water, but if you don't like effervescent Berocca also have easy to swallow tablets. Disney Pixar: Cars 3

We were beyond excited when we headed to the recent Charity Gala Screening of Cars 3 in West London, both of my boys have grown up with watching Cars and believe me we have watched it on re-run several times,  so we have a great fondness for the Disney Pixar characters especially Lightning Mc Queen, without spoiling too much for those who are as excited as us to see the next installment, Cars 3 sees Lighting Mc Queen attempt to take on the next generation of cool high tech racers, in particular, the new rookie Jackson Storm who makes it clear that he thinks it's time for Lighting Mc Queen to retire, but Lightning Mc Queen is not yet ready to call it a day despite losing in a recent race to Storm.

Lighting Mc Queen is determined to succeed and finds he needs the help of a young race technician Cruz Ramirez, Cruz attempts to help Mc Queen win the final race of the season The Piston Cup, but soon find herself admitting her deep desire to race. inspired by the late Hudson Hornet, Cruz helps Lighting Mc Queen prepare for the Piston Cup, but things take an unexpected and inspiring turn.

We most defiantly loved the movie, it certainly lived up to out expectations and more with a huge unexpected twist, a must see for any Disney Pixar fan, especially Cars fans who will love this next chapter.

Cars 3 is out in all good UK cinemas nationwide from the 14th July, to stay updated with Cars 3 check out @Disney_UK #Cars3

Despicable Me 3 with #VuePresents

We loved the first two Despicable Me movies, so we are super excited to finally get the chance to watch the cool brand newly released Despicable Me 3, featuring Gru and of course our favourite minion characters.

Movie Synopsis:
Those cheeky lovable Minions are keen for Gru to return to his villainous ways, and when the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him, you would think Gru would retaliate, but he doesn't and decides to take a trip to meet his long lost brother, sibling rivalry is soon put on hold as they both join forces to take down villain Balthazar Bratt, a former 1980s child star who seeks to take revenge against the world.

To celebrate the launch of Despicable Me 3 in cinemas, Vue has partnered with self-professed ‘Imagination Explorer’ Dominic Wilcox to think up some super fun inventions that would make trips to the cinema even more fun than they already are.

Taking inspiration from the film and its cool gadgets Dominic Wilcox has come up with some cool inventions including the Munch Muffler that quietens noisy eaters, Emergency Hands to cover your eyes during scary moments and a Popcorn Slider - that has actually been brought to life as a prototype.

I certainly love the idea of the Popcorn Slider, no more passing and hunting for who has the popcorn whilst watching your favourite movie, it would definitely be loved by the kids too. We are most definitely looking forward to our Despicable Me 3 Vue movie night and will share our thoughts on the movie soon. Despicable Me 3 is in Vue venues nationwide, Check your nearest Vue for timings.
