Jumbo Italian Spiced Chickpea Burgers - #TryTotal Challenge



I was delighted to be invited to take part in the Try Total Challenge...We love Total Greek Yoghurt.....so couldn't wait to get involved, and try some recipes using Total Greek Yoghurt...Not only is its much healthier alternative it tastes amazing.
To help us get started we was send a wonderful array of ingredients and a recipe card.

So here are our....... Jumbo Italian Chickpea Burgers

Ingredients
For The Burgers
4 Tbsp of Total Greek Yoghurt, classic
75g of torn bread or breadcrumbs
2x 400g of canned chickpeas
25g of basil
3 Tbsp sundried tomato paste
2 cloves of garlic crushed
i pinch of chili flakes

To serve
125g Total Yoghurt,classic
75g Black olives
1 Small read onion
4 ciabatta rolls - lightly toasted
salad leaves and sliced tomatoes

Method
Put bread into food processor and whizz into crumbs.... add chickpeas,basil tomato paste,Greek Yoghurt,garlic,chili flakes..season and whizz together until well chopped and easy to shape into four large patties.

Spray a large frying pan with oil and heat on a medium heat..add patties and cook for 5 minutes each side until golden brown.


Chop remaining basil and mix with olives and onions and Total Greek Yoghurt and set to one side.
add a few salad leaves add tomato slices to each roll and then add burger...top with a olive and onion mix...delicious.


I absolutely love chickpeas and Total Yoghurt so what an amazing combination....This recipe was so simple and very easy to follow..we were delighted with the amazing yummy spiced chickpea burgers..they tasted amazing, I cant wait to make these again.

  1. They look so nice. I guess the yoghurt keeps them moist and stops them from tasting dry?
